While Maisie Wynter finished in the silver medal position in her Year 8 category.
Congratulations to Sydney Green SLR, who has been successful in gaining a place in the esteemed netball 'Nova Academy'. This is a pathway to 'Severn Stars', the netball team affiliated to Worcester and Gloucester who play in the Vitality netball super league. Who knows...this could even lead to England representation one day!

From her continued training (every day after school and all weekend, except for National tournaments), at 12 years old she now is ranked 12th in the country for under 14's. She is a Herefordshire County Player, working with the Welsh National Badminton (as she is too young for England) for selection, and has a diary of 23 National individual tournaments this year from Truro to Newcastle.

“The British Blind Sport swimming gala is an event in held in the UK for visually impairment or blind young people. I have taken part in this event for the past three years and won GOLD and SILVER medals. To take part is a huge achievement and has made me realise that being disabled doesn't matter as we are all the same. This event has made me want to go further in the blind swimming world. I’m hoping this success can continue as it has helped to build my confidence and it may lead to bigger and better things such as the Paralympics in 2020.
Thanks to the British Blind Sport charity for holding this event at Birmingham University, with thanks to them for the use of their facilities.”
Jade Spencer & Sophia Griffith-Walker are an All-Girl Ballroom & Latin Couple. The girls have been dancing together since October 2017 but competing on the National Circuit since February 2018.
The girls started their respective dance careers from an early age with Hereford based Nicola's School of Dance, competing on the UKA Circuit, winning both their age categories.
The girls decided they needed a new challenge and to compete regularly all over the country. The girls had had private lessons with both Daniella & David Trueman from Dancetastic Academy Wolverhampton and decided to move Dance Schools. Upon doing this they are now competing on a National level against the top All Girl Couples in the country.
The girls are extremely dedicated, travelling to Wolverhampton each Saturday for lessons and most Sundays for competitions.
Their first year has now ended in the National League and they have ended up Latin All Girls 15th out of 113 and Ballroom 11th out of 80.
The New League has started for 2019 and they are currently top of this League for Latin.

She came 3rd in tramp oline out of a group of 30 qualifiers and 2nd in DMT which means she has gained a place in the West Midlands Team to compete against the rest of the UK at the Barclaycard Arena in June. We wish her all the best for June.
5th Best in the Country!
From after school basketball to representing the West Midlands in Manchester at the FIBA 3x3 basketball U14 girls tournament to being the 5th best in the country and a trophy to prove it.
Well done - Boudicca, Cerys, Gabrielle, Malisa, Amelia and Emily.
Also a massive thank you to Mr Graham Biggs who has coached and supported them.
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Schools Athletic Championships
" I spent Saturday 9th June at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Schools Athletic Championships supporting our students who were competing in a range of track and field events.
All the children who competed were a credit to BHBS. Their behaviour was impeccable and I was particularly impressed by the support and encouragement they showed each other.
I would also like to comment on the support shown by our PE department. The event was attended by Mr Burgess, Mr Stubbs and Mrs Ogden, who gave up their Saturday and were on hand to help officiate and also support and encourage those competing.
Everyone should be proud of their performances. We came away with numerous medals - 4 gold and 4 bronze medals:
Mandras - 100m gold; Sydney - 300m gold, 100m bronze; Chloe - 300m bronze; Darcie - 200m bronze; Tom - 800m bronze
Mandras and Sydney (above left) are through to the Mason Trophy Meeting and the other bronze medallists are on the reserve list.
We have some very talented athletes and a dedicated PE department. "
Mrs Claire Jinks
Well done Mandras at the Mason Trophy athletics meeting in Birmingham yesterday for winning Gold in the 100m and then bringing Gold home again as part of the Hereford & Worcestershire relay team. What a talent!
Amazing Achievement for Robynn Quinn!
Robynn Quinn in Year 11 on the podium at this years Brazilian Jiu Jitsu National Championships winning both the NoGi National title and the Gi National title 2018!
Rowing Success for Henry Fraser and Alfie Wynter in Year 9.
Henry Fraser and Alfie Wynter represented Hereford Rowing Club at The National Schools Regatta on Friday 25th May 2018.
The event is the country’s top schools’ event with ferocious competition. The boys were entered in the J14 coxed quad category with students from both Weobley and Lucton schools.
There were 58 entries in their event which consisted of time trials and dependent on their times the crews were then split into A, B, C and D groupings with 6 lane final.
The boys exceeded expectation and finished second out of 58 in the time trials, earning an 'A' final place. This was a massive achievement; they missed first place by 0.89 of a second!
Henry and Alfie achieved 5th in the final, a very creditable result. The coxed quad event is the only event in their age group so all the best scullers would have been there. Hereford Rowing Club cannot remember reaching an 'A' final in quad sculls before.
We are very proud of their achievement and now look forward to the Junior Britchamps in July.
Well done both!
James Galvin came away with a gold and three silver medals in the championship event recently.
James took gold in the men's 100 metre relay and individual silvers in the 25 metres freestyle and backstroke along with the 50 metres backstroke.
